Course Description:
This course is designed to provide insights into how students that live in poverty learn, grow, and live.
You will learn how and why students that live in poverty think, along with why they say what they say and how they interact within their environment.
This course will provide insights and strategies on how to interact with the poverty child and why you need to raise your expectations for your students.
This course will use the book Poor Students, Richer Teaching: Mindsets That Raise Student Achievement by Eric Jensen, which will provide the foundation for the course.
There will also be additional articles, videos, and presentations to help you set up your classroom to support students that live in poverty.
